From Legacy to Digital: Why Kingsground Needed a Website Redesign

Kingsground Narrowboats had decades of craftsmanship behind them, but their outdated website was holding them back. It didn’t reflect their brand and their quality of their work, wasn’t mobile-friendly, and lacked SEO structure. All of this combined, was making it hard for new customers to find them online. As a small, family-run business, they needed a site that told their story clearly, worked on every device, and could grow with them.

Blending Tradition with Modern Web Design

We kicked off with inspiration & moodboards to capture the charm and detail of narrowboat building. Using their established logo as a base, we built a fresh visual identity pairing rich colours, refined typography, and clean layouts. The goal was to keep the character but remove the clutter. Every design decision was made to enhance user experience while staying true to their heritage. Once taking on feedback from the first two directions, we settled on a final third direction before beginning the website design.

Built in Webflow: Flexible, Fast and SEO-Ready

The new site was built using Webflow, Giving Kingsground a custom, fast, and fully responsive platform they can update themselves. With CMS-driven project galleries, strong SEO foundations, and intuitive navigation, the website now supports their business goals and reflects their reputation. It’s a great example of how a Webflow website for a small business can be both beautiful and effective.
